I have officially booked my tickets to Oxford! I leave Houston on September 24th, and while I keep telling everyone "I have lots of time left here!", the truth is that time is passing quite fast, and I am filled with a healthy balance of excitement and nerves. Below is a photo of the main Wycliffe Hall building where I will be studying.
I have received a steady influx of information from Wycliffe Hall over the past few weeks, and am very much looking forward to the Fall semester. I have seen a list of some of the other students, and am thrilled to study alongside believers literally from around the world. I found out I will be living on campus (moving in September 25th) and signed up for my "Bod" card a few days ago (this is the library card that allows all Oxford students access to the Bodleian libraries, including the Radcliffe Camera, pictured below).
As the days get closer to leaving, I would covet your prayers for a few specifics:
- Focus. I have a lot to do before I leave, from finishing up work to moving to saying goodbyes. I want to do all these things well and with intention. Please pray that the Lord would give me focus to get everything done well, and with time to spare.
- Friendships. I have no doubt the Lord has people in Oxford and at Wycliffe for me to befriend and build relationships with, but I still have some anxiety whenever I enter as "the new kid" again. Please pray that those relationships would be clear and glorifying to the Lord, and that He would guide me to the people who He wants .
- Funding. I am truly so humbled by the support and partnership I have received from so many of you, and I am much further along in my fundraising than I ever imagined to be in this short amount of time! I found out last week that the cost of living estimates put out by the University have risen almost 40% since last year, which I had not budgeted for previously. I know that the Lord is in control, and I am not worried about this small setback in my goal because I know we serve a God who owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10)-- He is in control. Please pray that this funding would come through in a way that only brings glory to God.
Thank you for your prayers and your partnership, I cannot adequately express my gratitude for how God has used you in my life. I will be sending out the first of my partner-specific prints in the next few weeks, so be on the lookout in your inbox! If you would still like to partner with me but have yet to do so, please visit my partnership page: nancy-page.com/pledge.
I will continue to update you all and also will be putting my updates on my Wycliffe blog, nancy-page.com/wycliffe.
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
