I had so much fun with some of my favorite [little] artists today. I love their color choices-- always bright, bold, uninhibited. We talked while we painted about what it meant to "radiate joy". Defining the word "radiate" was interesting-- how do you describe it? I finally fumbled around and landed on "someone who overflows with something from the inside out". I looked up where this comes from in scripture, and found it so applicable to my sweet little friends. "Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." (Psalm 34:5 NIV) They are great examples to me of unashamed, night, bold faith-- much like their color choices. They love the Lord, and their innocence reflects an uninhibited joy in who God is and how much he loves them. The cobwebs of shame that seem to layer itself upon us year by year as we grow up, it's nowhere to be seen in them. And as many times as I think that those cobwebs hide any glimmer of joy in me, I know it's untrue, if I look to him the reflection of God's peace breaks through the layers of shame, bright and bold and uninhibited.
